Local nonprofit CATCH calls for holiday gift sponsors to uplift Idaho's homeless families
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — CATCH, a local nonprofit working to house Idaho families and individuals experiencing homelessness in the Treasure Valley, asks sponsors to purchase gifts for families in its annual holiday gift-giving program.
"We've been able to help many families get home for the holidays, but it can take several months for them to stabilize, which makes the holiday season challenging," said CATCH Executive Director Stephanie Day. "Through the Holiday Sponsorship program, donors are matched with various giving opportunities to help make the holiday season special for families in our program."
Sponsors can be local community members, groups, or businesses and will receive family wish lists by Nov. 17.
"The first Christmas after I was homeless was especially heartwarming," said Cassidy Landry, a mother housed with CATCH. "Because of a local company's generosity, presents for my children and I were under our pink tree on Christmas morning."
