The Traveling Table brings mobile food pantry to Nampa's northern residents
NAMPA, Idaho (CBS 2) — A new mobile food pantry is now open for north Nampa residents.
The Traveling Table food pantry distributes free food provided by the Idaho Food Bank.
The truck the pantry operates out of allows volunteers to go where the need is greatest.
Board members said the program began after Nampa residents saw the need for healthy, affordable food options for their city’s north side.
“A lot of people don't have transportation on this side of town,” said Traveling Table board member Ana Moroshan. “So, the truck that we had donated, it's an old fed ex truck. And, we had it donated to our organization. So, it's really nice because we'll be able to go to you with food."
The Treasure Valley Leadership Academy in Nampa also allows some of their students for volunteers to the pantry.
